Introduction to Coral Conservation Course
LEVEL: Beginner
This course covers the fundamental processes and disciplines of coral conservation. Students will develop a clearer understanding of what coral conservation involves and identify areas that best suit them, giving them tools to define their next steps.
Coral Propagation Course
LEVEL: Beginner
The Ocean Quest Coral propagation Course is a comprehensive training program designed for students part of a long-term coral propagation project. Topics discussed in the course include fundamental knowledge of corals, equipment, proper coral extraction and handling, substrates, coral propagation techniques and ethical practices in coral propagation.
Coral Nursery Development Course
LEVEL: Intermediate
This course focuses on familiarizing students on the integrated process of coral nursery development that is fundamental to a coral reef rehabilitation project. The course includes environmental assessments, nursery building, propagating, quarantine, monitoring, and maintaining of a coral nursery.
Coral Reef Rehabilitation Specialty Course
LEVEL: Intermediate
This course gives students in-depth exposure and training on coral reef rehabilitation, combining coral propagation, nursery development, transplantation, threats and countermeasures, and management. Upon completion of the course, the student can carry out reef rehabilitation with the support of Ocean Quest & MCP. This is a comprehensive course requiring many hours of class work and in water sessions.
Scientific Scuba Diving Course
LEVEL: Intermediate
This training course prepares the diver to safely conduct data gathering underwater through proper planning and implementation. The Ocean Quest Global scientific diving course standards is specific for each geographic location. Students must have an Open Water Diver certification prior to enrolling in this course.
Field Training Instructor Course
LEVEL: Professional
This course is designed for diving professionals to gain knowledge and experience in coral propagation, and then convey it to students. The goal of the trainers is to introduce simple and effective steps in coral propagation. By opening this path of education, Ocean Quest & MCP can reach broader audiences and encourage participants from all levels of society.
The Ocean Quest Education Platform
Ocean Quest Global is an initiative led by top coral scientist and oceanographer Dr. Anuar Abdullah with the aim to bring knowledge of coral rehabilitation to anyone that wishes to be involved regardless of education or background. OQG is a global movement for coral and marine ecosystems rehabilitation, with an international network of trainers and experts to provide training and support. MCP is honored to be a part of the OQG network and provide their courses and trainings in Pakistan.
