Songul Jamal – CEO

Coral Reef Rehabilitation Specialist, began her coral conservation journey in 2016 with Ocean Quest Global, restoring Maya Bay’s coral ecosystem in Thailand under OQG Founder Dr. Anuar Abdullah’s mentorship. She later brought Ocean Quest’s expertise to Cambodia and contributed to restoration projects in Malaysia. In 2021, she founded Marine Conservation Pakistan, applying scientific methodology and nature-based techniques to preserve marine biodiversity in Pakistan.

shabib asghar – director

Coral Biologist, working in the diving industry since 2019 and as a conservationist since 2021, Shabib leads MCP from the front, directing all diving, conservation operations and ocean literacy programs. He has represented Pakistan at the 3rd UN Ocean Conference and the 10th Our Ocean Conference. A Dive Master and Field Training Instructor, he specializes in marine cataloging, coral propagation & nursery development training, and ghost gear recovery.

As a conservationist, he actively spreads ocean awareness to educational institutes and youth, organizes dives showcasing the Arabian Sea through underwater photography, and works on underwater and coastal cultural heritage preservation, integrating anthropology into conservation. He is also a Turtle Ambassador for the Olive Ridley Project, a Certified Underwater Photographer & Videographer.

sundus sohail – Strategy Head

Environmental professional with 8+ years of expertise in ESG, sustainability, and climate impact, she has worked with leading organizations including the World Bank, WWF Pakistan & private sector, spearheading initiatives in sustainability strategies, ESG frameworks, and climate resilience.

As a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and Strategy Head at MCP, she specializes in coastal ecosystem restoration, and ocean literacy. Passionate about marine conservation, she integrates technical expertise with innovative approaches to empower stakeholders and foster sustainable & innovative solutions for resilient marine ecosystems.
