Songul Jamal – CEO

Coral Reef Rehabilitation Specialist, began her coral conservation journey in 2016 with Ocean Quest Global, restoring Maya Bay’s coral ecosystem in Thailand under OQG Founder Dr. Anuar Abdullah’s mentorship. She later brought Ocean Quest’s expertise to Cambodia and contributed to restoration projects in Malaysia. In 2021, she founded Marine Conservation Pakistan, applying scientific methodology and nature-based techniques to preserve marine biodiversity in Pakistan.

shabib asghar – director

Coral Biologist, working in the diving industry since 2019 and as a conservationist since 2021, Shabib leads MCP from the front, directing all diving, conservation operations and ocean literacy programs. He has represented Pakistan at the 3rd UN Ocean Conference and the 10th Our Ocean Conference. A Scientific Diving Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, he teaches scientific diving, including in-situ research and survey techniques bound by ethical guidelines, while also helping everyday divers enter the water with purpose, fostering a new generation of ocean stewards through conservation-focused training. He specializes in marine cataloging, coral propagation & nursery development training, and ghost gear recovery.

As a conservationist, he actively spreads ocean awareness to educational institutes and youth, organizes dives showcasing the Arabian Sea through underwater photography, and works on underwater and coastal cultural heritage preservation, integrating anthropology into conservation. His Ocean Promise was featured by UNDP Nature on World Youth Day 2025, highlighting his commitment to youth-driven marine action. He is also a Turtle Ambassador for the Olive Ridley Project, and a Certified Underwater Photographer & Videographer.

Anuar Abdullah (Ph.D.) – Mentor

Dr. Anuar Abdullah is the founder of Organic Reeh Rehabilitation Center & Ocean Quest Global. He started his journey in coral conservation in 1981. Today, his coral reef rehabilitation projects have been implemented in over fifty locations worldwide. He has written books on coral propagation, coral nursery development and the complete guide to coral reef rehabilitation. In 2004, he invented and patented the coral catalyst that is used extensively in coral propagation at Ocean Quest Global. The catalyst is the key to a fully organic coral propagation system. In 2013, Asian Dive Expo (ADEX) in Singapore appointed him as their Coral Reef Ambassador. The position is held until today. In the same year, Dr. Anuar introduced the coral propagation system for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society that they called the Sea Shepherd Dive campaign. The campaign lasted 5 years from 2013 until 2018 with big success. With collaboration with the Marine National Park Operation Center, he is also responsible for the rehabilitation of the famous Maya Bay in Thailand. The rehabilitation of Maya Bay begins in 2018 and it is completed in 2022. A four years technological transfer from Ocean Quest Global to the Marine National Park. Recently, Dr. Anuar also expands his reach into Blue Economy and Sustainability project in the Arabian Sea. Now he is leading Organic Reeh Rehabilitation Center (ORRC), is the natural evolution of what was once known as Ocean Quest Global. A transition not of identity, but of intent. It marks a deliberate shift from building and operating conservation projects to defining the philosophy that must govern them.
